Fashion & STEM: The Perfect Fit Summer Camp

On the first day of camp, campers will create their own fantasy apparel design and explore the process of bringing designs to life.  In the computer aided design lab they will create their own unique repeating surface design and then print it out onto actual fabric using the campus fabric printer. After processing, they will get to cut and sew a skirt or shorts from their printed fabric in the production lab.  In the materials science testing lab campers will test fabric properties using lab equipment to answer the question of which fabric is the best fit for their design. Using a full-size dress form, they will build a wearable vintage remake design. The final day will include a runway show of all their designs and an open house for friends and family.
